The Seniors Of Caboolture Computer Club Inc. is a non-profit organisation open to seniors (50 and over) with an interest in acquiring, or expanding their knowledge of, the use of Personal Computers.
On the first Tuesday of the month there is a General Meeting from 9.30 until 11.30 am, usually including a Guest Speaker covering a topic of interest, and on the third Tuesday, a Workshop at which members can see specific applications being demonstrated, as well as have their ’faulty’ PC diagnosed for repair by one of the Club’s Technical Panel. All meetings are held in the Community Hall in the Fernhill Village Complex at 103 King Street, Caboolture.
To facilitate communication a Monthly Newsletter is sent to all members.
Donations for General Meetings and Workshops are $2 per Member or Visitor, and include Morning Tea.
The club’s Management Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting in February of each year, and meets monthly. It comprises a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and a number of other elected members and is responsible for the organisation and implementation of all club activity. As an Incorporated body the Club operates under a constitution and is subject to Regulatory Control by means of reporting to the Office of Fair Trading, Queensland.
The club offers a range of Courses, for members only, in topics such as:-
· Computer Concepts using Microsoft Windows.
· Introduction to the Internet.
· Introduction to Word.
· Introduction to PowerPoint.
· Introduction to Publisher.
Typically, courses are run over a period of four weeks, with one two hour module each week. The majority of the tuition is ‘hands on’ using the latest equipment and software, supported by modern display technology where appropriate. Informality and a non-threatening environment are fundamental to our approach, and success.
In addition to the regular courses which are conducted in the Training Room located in the Fernhill Village Complex at 103 King Street, Caboolture, other specialty sessions are run on a demand basis.
Costs for these courses are available to members on sign-on.
